our kitchen
Rooted in the Oxfordshire countryside, our kitchen offers a menu that balances refinement and creativity, each dish prepared with precision and finished to the very highest standards.
provenance & suppliers
Good food starts before it reaches the kitchen. We buy from farms, butchers, and growers we know, keeping our ingredients close to the land and true to the season.
Costwolds venison, vegetables from local fields, and fish from British waters all make their way onto the plate, carrying the countryside to the table.
the bar
The bar top is cut from yew and carefully restored. It gives the room its centre and carries the marks of craft in its grain. Order a drink here and you’ll feel the weight of the Duke’s character in your hands.
Alfresco dining
Our garden is open year-round for anyone to enjoy, rain or shine. The Duke is British after all, so a pint outside under grey skies is as much a tradition as one in the summer sun.
Coming soon, and when the weather does behave, the restaurant extends into the cherry tree garden for open-air suppers and gatherings that carry on into the evening. It’s also where we host events, from laid-back parties to full al fresco feasts.
